The SDC expresses gratitude to God for the fruitful meetings Archbishop Garcera had during his visit to the SDC in Malta from October 31 to November 4, 2024. In addition to visiting several SDC Centres, Garcera met with the SDC General Executive Council to further discuss the establishment of the new SDC Centre in Lipa, set to begin in mid-January 2025.
On Saturday, November 2, 2024, Garcera met with the SDC Candidates at the Formation Centre in Blata l-Bajda. This meeting provided the Candidates an opportunity to ask questions and gain a deeper understanding of Filipino culture and realities.
Following this, Garcera met with the three Maltese Members who will be relocating to Lipa to initiate the new SDC mission. They discussed the preparations and the path forward.
On Sunday, November 3, 2024, the three Members and their families attended Holy Mass at the DĦS Conference Centre. During his homily, the archbishop emphasised the importance of expanding the SDC in Asia. After Mass, attendees engaged in social interactions, and the parents of the three Members conversed with the archbishop about the Church in Lipa and the potential opportunities for the SDC apostolate.
