Missionary Experience in Ruiru

Victor Gomez from the SDC Centre of Lurin (Peru) visited the SDC Centre of Ruiru in Kenya for a missionary experience between the 4th and the 24th of March 2024. This is an overwhelming experience for Victor which provided him with many experiences to reflect upon.
My Green Heaven was the title that Victor gave to Kenya for the green scenery that surrounds every village. The trees, plants and green grass make Kenya remarkably similar to the rainforest found in Peru. This said, Kenya is also considered as heaven for Victor because of the experiences he had during Mass and religious celebrations. The prayerful atmosphere and the music played in churches raises one’s spirit to heaven and facilitates one’s experience of God.
In joining the community of the Ruiru SDC Centre, Victor participated and contributed to the apostolate being conducted in Ruiru. The enthusiasm and commitment of the Members and Candidates urged Victor to continue growing in his love towards the SDC vocation and to increase his zeal for the spreading of the Gospel. Everything that was witnessed in Ruiru filled Victor with a profound sense of gratitude towards God for this inspiring missionary experience, and above all, for the grace of the SDC vocation which Victor embraced on the day of his incorporation.
