During his early years, Charles de Foucauld was known in Paris for grand celebrations and the overindulgent lifestyle he led. However, after his conversion in 1886, at the age of twenty-eight, his excessive worldly pleasures were transformed into devotion to Jesus, love for the Eucharist, and care for the souls. After three years in the Holy Land as a hermit, he was ordained a priest and then headed towards the Sahara Desert to live among the poor and spread the Gospel of love. The spiritual autobiography of Charles de Foucauld reveals how intense the desire of this man to imitate Jesus was whislt drawing closer to Him every day. Preca Publications published this spiritual autobiography in Maltese on the occasion of the canonization of Charles de Foucauld in 2022.
