St George Preca Group
St George Preca Group aims to bring together individuals of all ages who want to learn more about the Founder of the Society of Christian Doctrine. They reflect on his writings, speeches, as well as episodes from his life and much more. For some, these meetings are a time of fond memories and a at time to recall what is already in memory, whilst for others they are new and fresh experience of St. George Preca’s teachings. Every word or phrase of his, spoken or written, continues to resonate with today’s life regardless of the many years that have passed.
Naturally, when one hears something beautiful and significant for life, he or she tries to share it with others. The invited speakers do not deliver mere lectures, but as members of the Society they share knowledge and experience that enhance the understanding of this holy man. Most importantly, they instil in the audience the devotion for St. George Preca and the eagerness to learn more about his teachings. Whilst receiving this knowledge and experience, the audience are encouraged to bring St George Preca closer to others.
Another activity organized by this group is a retreat day at the Conference Center at The Good Samaritan. This is usually held in August and attendance is very encouraging. Events like these give us a different perspective and help us in our faith journey. Along the way, we face struggles and at times we might feel exhausted. The events ogranised by this group provide us an opporunity to recollect ourselves so as to help us continue with our journey.
Anyone who wants more information about the St George Preca Group is requested to contact the Secretary General on gruppsgp.mt@sdcmuseum.org or call 22290333.

SDC Families
The Community of MUSEUM Families (CMF) is composed of a group of families who come together to share the experience of married life according to the spirituality of Dun Ġorġ, the founder of the Society of Christian Doctrine or, as the Maltese affectionately know it, the MUSEUM.
The committee of this group of families regularly organizes various activities that take place in different places, among them the Dar Ħanin Samaritan, the Seminary or a section of the MUSEUM in Malta. The main activities are discussion meetings – often led by a special guest – and the Sunday Mass. These two types of meetings alternate with each other in such a way that the community meets every two weeks, once for a meeting and once after Mass for the Mass session. It should be noted that during Mass, the children present leave for a special session organized for them during the homily. Apart from the two main activities mentioned, the committee also organizes seminars and family entertainment activities such as barbecues and walks in the countryside.
If you are interested (or know someone who might be interested) in joining this community, you can contact them via email at: secretarygeneral@sdcmuseum.org.

SDC Associates (Young Male Adults)
The goal of the group is to create a safe and appropriate environment where members can grow in faith, learning, and fellowship with each other, always in the spirit of Christianity and in the light of the teachings of Saint George Preca. This allows members of the SDC Associate Group to organize and participate in outreach activities, both within the Society of Christian Doctrine (MUSEUM) and in society at large, as needed.
Members of the SDC Associate Group meet once a month. The meetings begin with some prayer and reading from the writings of Dun George, followed by a presentation and discussion on the main theme of the meeting. Throughout the year, the meetings take on different forms: the December meeting is inspired by the School of Bethlehem, while the meeting during Lent is a prayerful meeting centered on the Way of the Cross and the Passion, all written by Saint George Preca. In the summer, there is no meeting held at the usual location, instead the group meets either by the sea or on a countryside walk, depending on the members’ preferences.
The SDC Associated Group meets once a month, usually on the first Thursday of the month. The meetings are held in the evening at 7:30 pm at the Formation Center in the General House of the MUSEUM in Blata l-Bajda. During the summer months, the group meets outside by the sea or somewhere in the countryside, depending on the members’ preferences.
To contact the group, one can reach out to David Farrugia at dvdfrrg@gmail.com or to Bernard Catania at bernardcatania@gmail.com.

Christmas Gathering for Former Members and Young Male Adults Group
SDC Co-Operators
This group began in 1948 with four former members of the Society of Christian Doctrine. It was recognized as an official branch of the SDC through the support of St George Preca on October 17, 1960. This group is open to married, single, and young people coming from all walks of life.
Our Lord Jesus Christ walked in Galilee and called people to follow him (see Mk1:16-20). Just as Jesus made disciples, he is also making disciples of us. To achieve this goal, we use the Scriptures, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, as well as Encyclicals and Apostolic Exhortations given to us by the Popes. This helps us to not only know who Jesus is, but also what he wants from us.
Our main activity remains that of Christian formation through prayer and study with talks every Wednesday and Saturday from speakers who prepare well in the subject they will be speaking about. We also have meetings that take the form of discussions.
On special occasions or feastdays, special celebrations are held in which there is certainly no shortage of teaching from the many books written by the Founder, St George Preca.
The group gives special importance to retreats. In fact, about four retreats are held throughout the year.
On the last Saturday before the Christmas feast, a religious and social activity is orgnised. It includes the celebration of Holy Mass animated with christmas carols. The Superior General of the SDC would also be invited to pass his Christmas greetings to members. A reception will be organised afterwards.
In November of each year, a Mass is held for the deceased members where the relatives of the deceased members would be invited.
On new year’s eve, the group meets for an hour of adoration, not only to thank God for what He has done for us during the year, but also to ask for forgiveness.
From time to time, the group organises cultural outings for members and conferences for the general public on current topics.
Anyone who wants to attend our meetings is more than welcome. Interested individuals can contact Gaetan Cilia (Superior) on these numbers: 21494800/79494807 or Paul Borg (Asst. Superior) on these numbers: 21487617/99847330.

SDC Youths
A group of former candidtes felt the need of setting up a group of youths who had received formation in the SDC. The main objective of this group is to provide a community in which former candidates can find accompanionship in their journey of faith and receive support in living the spirituality of St George Preca and the life of virtues through the SDC charism.
The initial meeting of this group was held at the SDC General House in December 2023. The number of attendanees was very encouraging and many passed positive comments in this initiative.
For the time being, there is no fixed schedule for this group, and thus, meeting shall be organised occasionally throughout the year. The General House of the SDC or other venues shall be used for such meetings, according to the nature of the meeting being organised.
